Roald Dahl (September 13rd 1916 - November 23rd 1990) is a writer Welsh, author of novels and news, which is addressed as well to the children as with the adults. Among his most famous works, one can quote Charlie and the chocolate factory , adapted to the cinema, as well as collections of news grinçantes KIS KIS and Bizarre, odd ( Someone like you ).
Biography
Resulting from an easy medium, born with Cardiff Norwegian parents on September 13rd, 1916, Roald Dahl knows animated an enough childhood and a youth. In 1920, at the 3 years age it loses his older sister (appendicitis) and her father (pneumonia) in a few weeks. His/her mother then decides to settle in England.
It engages in an oil company at 17 years, and leaves for Tanzania in Africa at 20 years. During the Second world war, it engages as a fighter pilot with Nairobi in Kenya. After a few hours of drive it is affected with flotilla 80. During a flight to join its flotilla he escapes from little from death, his plane being crushed. After being itself restored it joined its flotilla in Greece where it fights heroically.
It becomes acquainted with the American writer C.S. Forester, which pushes it to write. It starts to write books in 1942. The first account which it publishes is has Part off Cake , which describes its air crash in Libya. In 1943, it publishes Grimlins , which will very strongly inspire a film of Joe Dante, 40 years later. He writes also news for adults, with the often heavy atmosphere, like KIS KIS. Some of its news are adapted for television by Alfred Hitchcock. In 1953, he marries the American actress Patricia Neal, they will divorce in 1983. In 1967, it signs the scenario of fifth film of James Bond, One saw only twice .
They are however its texts intended for a young public which are worth to him to be reconnu : it is in 1961 that it publishes its first book for children: James and large fishing . In its books for children, the heroes are often unhappy children, who take one day their revenge (sometimes cruel!) on their of torture. The effect is jubilatoire, and also makes it possible to the reader to relativize his own problems. Its universe of anything is not asepticized.
