Roads of the Haute-Garonne
Cartography
The network in 1750 - Charts of Cassini
From 1750 to 1784, the whole of the highway network for the first time is charted with large scales (with the 86.400ème) and in a complete way by Cassini de Thury, at the request of Louis XV. These charts are of a great toponymic richness, but of a great poverty as for the figuration of the relief and altimetry. In the same way the secondary ways are seldom represented, because of a share of their poor state, in addition of their low economic importance.

The network in 1850 - Chart of Levasseur
The illustrated national Atlas carried out by Victor Levasseur is an invaluable testimony of the XIXe century, the charts colored with the hand are surrounded by engravings indicating statistical, historical notes and illustrations characteristic of the departments. On these charts are represented the roads, railways and ways of water. In addition, the departments are divided into districts, cantons and communes.See the Levasseur chart of the department of the Haute-Garonne
