Roads of Yvelines
The highway network of Yvelines , department of recent creation belonging to the west-south-west crown of Parisian lagglomeration, is strongly marked by the proximity of Paris like by the offset position of the chief town, Versailles.
The highway main axes, truck drivers and, connecting the capital of France to the areas of the West (Normandy and Brittany) cross the territory of the department by forming a range to three branches: East-West in north along the Seine (A13/N13), East-West in the center (N12), the North-East - south-west on the fringe is department (N10/A10). Partially the by-passs of Paris, N186/A86 and Francilienne are added to it (the latter currently being the subject of procedures of choice of the layout) which relate to only the north-eastern part of the department.
The departmental network has an unequal density, reflecting contrast between the very urbanized north-eastern part of the territory and the remainder of the department in rural matter with weak density of population.
Among the principal gaps of this network is reproduced the fast absence of connection on the central axis of the department between the poles of Saint-Quentin-in-Yvelines and Mantes-the-Pretty, connection which is assured currently only by secondary roads with the limited characteristics beam many villages.
