Road signs

The road signs makes it possible to manage the use of the Route S by the users (automobile and trucks, two-wheeled vehicle or pedestrians). It consists of two great units, namely the vertical Road signs, which includes/understands the panels, the beacons and the tricolor fires and the horizontal Road signs, consisted of the markings out of the ground.

  • 1946 - general Instruction on indication
The panels are classified in 4 categories:
    • Indication of obstacles (triangular form, cream-coloured bottom, listel dark blue)
    • Indication of police force
      • Panels of prohibition (round form, red listel)
      • Panels of indication (square form, blue bottom, white listel)
    • Indication of localization (white text, bottom dark blue)
    • Indication of direction
  • 1949 - international Protocol of Geneva
This protocol involves the disappearance of panels and categories and the name change of some of these categories. One finds then:
    • Panels of danger
    • Panels of absolute regulations
    • Panels of indication
  • 1954 - Officialization of the panel " STOP"
  • 1963 - Instruction of 1963
  • 1968 - Convention of Vienna
  • 1971 - European Agreement of Geneva
  • 1973 - Additional protocol with the convention of Vienna concerning the road marks
  • 1997 - Recommendations of the European Economic and Social Council.
