Road signals of particular regulations
The Convention of Vienna on the road signs, adopted the November 8th 1968, defines eight categories of signals: signals of warning of danger, signals of priority, restriction or inhibiting signals, signals of obligation, signals of particular regulations, signals of information, installation or service, signs direction, marking out or indication, panels additional.
This article is devoted to the signals of particular regulations .
The description hereafter is that defined in the convention of Vienna. It is thus found only in the national signals of the countries which ratified this convention.
General characteristics and symbols
The signals of particular regulations are generally square or circular, at blue bottom with a symbol or an inscription of clear color, or at clear bottom with a symbol or an inscription of dark color.
Description
Fourteen signals or families of signals are retained in the convention of Vienna as signals of particular regulations:- Signals indicating a regulation or a danger to one or more lanes
- Signals indicating the way reserved to the regular services of public transport
- Signal “One way”
- Signal of preselection
- Signals announcing the entry or the exit of a highway
- Signals announcing the entry or the exit of a road where the rules of circulation are the same ones as on a highway
- Signaux indicating the entry and the end of an agglomeration
- Signaux to zonal validity
- Signaux announcing the entry or the exit of a tunnel where observes particular rules
- Signal “Crossing for pedestrians”
- Signal “Hospital”
- Signal “Parking”
- Signals announcing a tram or bus stop
- Signals announcing a place of stop in the event of urgency or danger
