Road signal of danger

The panels of danger (permanent) are triangular (upwards pointing triangle) on red board. The temporary panels are at yellow bottom. For the sight of a panel of danger, it is necessary to slow down imperatively.

The panels are established before the danger: in absence of sign specifying the distance, they are located 50 meters before the danger in agglomeration, and in open country, they are located 150 meters before the danger.

Natural risks

  • Risk of stone or stone fall, fallen on the road

  • Passage of pets
  • Passage from wild animals (especially the night)
  • Fitted frequently slipping (because of precipitations, glaze…)
  • Risk of cross-wind extremely (the panel is supplemented by the presence of a sleeve with air on the roadside, indicating the power and the direction of the wind)

Dangerous turns

Panels indicate an unexpected, tight turn or which is closed again or a series of turns.

  • Turn on the right
  • Turn on the left
  • Series of turns of which the first is on the right
  • Série of turns of which the first is
on the left

Circulation with double direction

By exception, the panel “double direction of circulation” is a signal of position which is placed on the level of the danger. It announces the end of a roadway to one way. Placed before the danger, it is supplemented by a sign of distance.

Other dangers

  • dangerous Descent (the percentage is indicated on the panel); it is necessary in general to apply the driving brake then, if necessary, to slow down by intermittencies but sufficiently extremely

  • Débouché cyclists coming from right-hand side or left (for the roads skirted by a track or cycle track)
  • Débouché on a quay or a bank
  • Aire of air danger (one can be surprised by the noise caused by the takeoff or the landing of a plane)
  • Crossing level
  • Travaux
