Road roller
A road roller , called also tamper, is a plant compaction motorized, characterized by cylindrical Roue S smooth being used to pack the ground support or any other layer of a roadway.
A road roller very heavy (a compact model weighs approximately 600-700 kg, very large until a score of tons), is generally articulated in its medium and is equipped with two broad cylinders called " billes" (of the width of the vehicle) acting of wheels (or as a cylinder with before and of wheels to the back, even only of the wheels) and allowing to pack, compact and smooth an embanked ground or the coated with a road. The models used on the bituminous mix have a system of watering integrated to cool the balls and to prevent that the bituminous mix does not stick and causes wrenchings to it, the whole of these machines has a Vibreur with internal unbalance.
There exist also apparatuses more compact, with only one roller and tractor drawn manually or very compact vibrating plates, for the zones inaccessible to the large machines.
With a less scale, the Rouleau with grass fulfills the same function.
