Road beacon of permanent reinforcement of a marking in France

The marks out road permanent reinforcement of a marking is a marks out flexible, coded J11 in France, which reinforces continuous longitudinal permanent marking in particular points.

Use

They are useful in the following cases:
  • announces obstacle;
  • guidance, drain of traffic;
  • dissuasion, prevention of dangerous operation;
  • specific employment in agglomeration, from the point of view of a final installation of Roadway system.

Description

The J11 beacon is presented in the form of a closed profile or of a plane or curved blade. Its normal height lies between 700 and 850 mm; exceptionally, it can be lowered up to 500 mm in agglomeration. Its apparent width lies between 150 and 200 Misters.

It is of white color and comprises two white bands rétroréfléchissantes 100 mm height, separated by 50 to 100 mm and placed in higher two thirds of the beacon.

These bands should not be prolonged on the nonvisible face of the beacons so at night they are likely to give a misleading indication for the users circulating in opposite direction.

The J11 beacons are in general established to approximately 0,5 meter beyond the line continuous, exceptionally on this continuous line, but to in no case on the circulated part of the roadway.
