Rius

Eduardo del Río (Zamora, Michoacán, 1934), is a Dessinateur and Mexican writer .

After the death of her father the year of her birth, its family emigrates with Mexico City one year afterwards. It is internal during seven years at the Salésiens, and studies to become priest.

Autodidact, it begins his career in 1954 in the review Ja-Já and since it collaborated with the principal newspapers and re-examined of Mexico. He is the author of two cartoons Los Supermachos (Supermâles) and Los Agachados (the Underhand ones), of the reviews of the end of the Années 1960. He published more than one hundred books and received dozen national and international prices.

The books of Rius are characteristic by their abstract writing, the caricatures of the author himself and the recurring presence of joinings of works of other artists. He uses a simple and familiar language to make accessible his subjects to the not specialized readers. Its style is disrespectful and caustic.

It published books on various sets of themes, like the Histoire, the Philosophie, the Religion and the popular Médecine, with an aim of revealing and of lighting using its caricatures.

Its ideas are of left. Rius is a sour critic of the political system ( Su majestad el PRI , Los Panuchos , Desde los cristeros hasta Fox ), Consumérisme ( the droga that refresca ), Impérialisme (see Historia del Tío Sam , interminable the conquista of Mexico City ) and religion in general ( Manual LED perfecto ateo , El mito guadalupano , El supermercado of sectas ).
