Rise of the Large Coast
The Assembled Large Coast , or of the Large-Coast , is a way of Cross-Russet-red the, with Lyon, connecting the district of the Terreaux to the plate of the Russet-red Croix. It is characterized by a very strong unevenness, from where its name.
With the the Middle Ages, this rise is still a country lane, bordered of agricultural land and in particular of vines. As of the 16th century, becoming a major axis of connection of entry and exit of the peninsula by North, it urbanizes gradually. Beautiful buildings with windows with Meneaux testify to this time and this early urbanization (the remainder of the hill covering buildings mainly only as from the 18th century). In the last decades of the 20th century, a policy of urban renewal destroys the upper part of the rise and the small islands contiguous, creating one perforated quite visible in urban fabric.
Certain sections are from now on pedestrians. The upper part was transformed into staircases and gardens dominating the city.
