The Rio Grande C Sul (RS) is southernmost of the States of the Brésil.
Il is located at the south of the Southern area and is bordered in the east by the Atlantic Ocean.
The Argentinian and the Uruguay are at its borders.

The Rio Grande C Sul has a surface of 282.062 km ² and counts approximately 10.912.283 inhabitants (2005). These data account for 3% of the territory and 6% of the population of the Brésil. Its climate is moderate wet heat, with an average annual temperature of 8° C.

Its capital is Porto Alegre (1 360.590 inhabitants).
