Rio Chapecó

The Rio Chapecó is a Brazilian Rivière of the west of the State of Santa Catarina. It belongs to the catchment Area of the Uruguay, of which it is the principal affluent when one adds his own affluent to it, the Chapecozinho.

Its basin covers approximately 8180 km ². The course of Rio Chapecó very sinuous and is recut many falls of water, having an important hydro-electric potential . Its mode pluviometric, is fed by the Précipitation S throughout the year. Twelve fluviometric stations are installed on its course.

Water of the area is overall of bad quality, because of farm. This problem is enough general in the west of Santa Catarina. The principal problem comes from the rejections produced by the breeding Porcin.
