Ring studies of the French tour operators

Ceto, the Circle of studies of the French tour operators, a tool of reservation for the travel agencies launched in October 2003 a gate BtoB, Ceto.to. Intended for the travel agencies, it gathers, for the moment, the entirety of the offers of twenty tour operators (TO) among whom appear Fram, Jet Turn, Kuoni, Marmara, Look Voyages, Ground of adventure or Travellers of the World. This conglomerate represents a rich catalog of 1.800 products on which the advisers voyage can launch multi-criteria research by mark, date, airport, destination, type of products (accompanied circuit, cruising, individual voyage, etc) or budget.

the gate makes it possible the agencies to consult the products or to carry out research thanks to a login and a password commun runs which are " lesbrochures" and " desto". Each agency which makes the request of it should receive an identifier and a password which will enable him to reserve free on line. The transactions will be finalized either on the BtoB site of the tour operators when it exists, or on their cal-center.

The creation of this gate answers two requirements, initially, to make it possible to the tour operators to better control their stock by placing at their disposal all the channels of distribution, including Internet. Indeed, until now, these stocks were distributed in line by companies Internet which had nothing to do with their network. Then, this gate should make it possible to improve the productivity of the tour operators and the agencies by reducing the recourse to the cal-center in particular.

Two creditable objectives which hides of it probably a third: to allow the tour operators to circumvent the GDS and to reduce their expenses of distribution by developing the number of the reservations on line carried out directly by the agencies on their BtoB sites. Concerns which are undoubtedly not foreign with the decision of Marmara, one of the heavy trucks of the Ceto.to gate, to pour at the agencies 2 euros in addition to the rate of commission on each file reserved by the advisers voyages on his site BtoB Espacepro.to.
