Origin

  • In February 1993, the members of the future Circle (an idea of DSK and Maurice Levy, owner of Publicis) gathers at the head office of Publicis. Y are represented: Rhône-Poulenc, Lafarge, Pechiney, Elf, L'Oreal, Bull, Schneider, Renault, Total, BSN…
  • In June 1993 Raymond Levy chairman of Renault creates the Circle which moves in Neuilly, with 171, avenue Charles- of-Gaulle. DSK becomes about it becomes the vice-president on a purely voluntary basis.

A place of dialog and exchanges intended for the industrial large companies The Circle of Industry gathers a score of presidents of French large companies intervening in all the industrial sectors as well as politicians. The companies members of the Circle of Industry represent in 2004 a cumulated turnover approximately 600 billion euros and 2 million employment in the world. Majority of them are with dimensions with the CAC 40. The Circle of Industry is characterized by its industrial specificity, its engagement for construction European and its political two-party system. The promotion of the image and the interests of industry near the national public institutions and European

The Circle of Industry takes part in the reflection on the definition and the articulation of a news industrial policy and of an improvement of the economic governorship in Europe. It is implied in proposals and debates of the European institutions on the matter.

High level meetings

Regularly, the Circle of Industry organizes for its members a dialog around a personality, political official or trade-union French or European (Heads of State or government members of the European Union, President of the Commission, European Commissioners).

These exchanges, in the form of dining, are the occasion to tackle concrete subjects, to test these personalities on the industrial subjects and to relay near them the concerns of the industrialists.

  • European talks in Brussels

These meetings with European Police chiefs, members of Parliament and the official high level ones answer the concern of the Circle of Industry of being upstream possible decisions, of developing a constructive dialog and permanent with the political officials and of making share the points of view of the industrialists.
