Ricky Fox

Ricky Fox (March 2nd 1957 with Uccle - Belgium) is an organizer headlight of the history of the free Radio in Belgium, and one of the pioneers of Radio Contact. It was also stimulating on television for the Sunday emission of RTBF, entitled Chansons with the chart, it recorded two discs made up and produced by Claude Barzotti.
Il creates a new radio operator concept, animates Radio Contact More, until in 2007.

Biography

It makes its beginnings out of Radio, on March 1st 1980, like organizer of Radio Contact, during the launching of this free Radio. It animates: “Midday Contact”, “of the sun in your rumsteak” (of 11:00 to 14:00.). Also Tuesday and Thursday: “Disco music-Fox” without forgetting Wednesday evening: “Night flight” (of 23:00 to 02:00.). Without forgetting Sunday (15:00 with 18:00) " Radio-Follies".

1981, presentation of " Songs with the Chart " : emission headlight of varieties, in premium time, proposed on RTBF - Tele (With Dalida, Goldman, Voulzy,…)

1981, recording of two 45 turns composed by Claude Barzotti " Tom Thumb " , and " Nobody me aime" .

In 1983 until in 1988, Director of the Programs and the Antenna of Radio operator Contact, left French-speaking the country. It creates the first playlist of Belgium! It programs all the music diffused on this radio and deals with the format of Contact, which will become very quickly, the network of radios n°1, in Belgium. While continuing to present emissions. It receives, on line, in its emissions: Sacha Distel, Thierry the Lad, Richard Gotainer, Lio; Daniel Guichard,…

1988, it leaves Radio Contact, it is in talks with two French radios: Metropolys (in North) and KIS FM (network covering France), these two networks radios form today part of the network RTL2. No the concrete result. Returns to Belgium.

It works for agencies of pubs; it was the voice hidden behind pubs, out of radio and TV. (Batida, Martini, various discs, dvd…)

It presented many spectacles; animated podiums for very known marks (Coca-Cola, Peter Stuyvesant, Pulse, Gallic, Sony,… Presentation of the spectacles of Johnny Hallyday, Gerard Lenorman,…

1989, it presented emissions on RFM - the Radio operator of the Groupe Rossel - (Radio which became Bel RTL). It animated the small hours (06/09h) there. “Breakfast included/understood”, with the regular intervention of the journalists, chroniclers and plays. He interviews Eros Ramazzotti, Patrick Bruel, Calogero, Dupa, Serge Reggiani,…

Then, return in the field of external animation, radio operator pubs and TV. Takes time to travel. Meet Christophe Dechavanne, with Paris, in its company “Coyote” but will not be retained as chronicler of his new emission.

In 2005, it deals with Contact +, one of the radios of the Contact Group. It works out a new concept of radio: “The Singing Radio”. A subtle mixture of timeless successes, unforgettable titles of the years 1950,1960 and 1970:

moreover, animates interactive emissions, relaxed to listen in family, between friends, pointing out the style “Salut the Buddies”. The morning: the Juke-box (7 with 9:00); midday: Vinyl + (12 with 14:00); Friday evening, on line: the Party (of 22:00 at midnight). The latter with listeners, via Internet, who listen and intervene on antenna since the the United States, the Argentine, the France, the Germany, Israel,… Immediate success! Without great ways, this Radio is classified in signal 10 of the radios most listened in Belgium.

2006, after being put in notice, Ricky Fox is taken again following the union of its listeners who ask for his return on antenna. It animates the section of the morning between 6:30 and 10:00 with questions cultural and diverting, of good mood and extraordinary programming ( more + ). It also continues to animate the Party Friday evening and deals again with the musical programming.

2007, Monday 30 July, it has just been put an end to the contract which bound Ricky Fox to Radio Contact More. No valid reason justifies this gesture that its many listeners regret. Its computerized musical program, its meticulous selection of titles continuous to being exploited by the Management of the Contact/RTL Group. The press speaks about it and one finds his name on various Internet sites. A thing seems certain: one did not finish hearing it… Its faithful listeners await it and do not have the short memory.
