World Wrestling Federation (1987-1995)

The Edge-Am Connection

In 1987, Martel turned over to the WWF with its partner by team, American Tom Zenk, in the Edge-Am Connection . Edge-Am Connection was formed by Martel with Montreal in International Wrestling Association in 1986. Tom Zenk was the small-friend of the sister-in-law of Martel, and was introduced in Martel with the AWA by Curt Hennig. Edge-Am Connection gained the affection of the fans quickly, and it appeared certain that they would gain the titles by team of the WWF in a near future. However, the team separated little from time after WrestleMania III; Zenk affirmed that Martel had secretly negotiated a contract into individual which was worth three times more than the contract of its partner (traditionally, the wages of the teams are equal).

Martel affirmed that Zenk " … was submerged by all… Wrestling is very hard for your body. Hard for your mental too. It is hard physically. Tom was not as extremely mentally and physically as I did not think it . "

Strike Forces

After the departure of Zenk, Martel trained a new team with Tito Santana, Strike Force , putting fine at the long reign champions by team of the WWF the Hart Foundation, but later losing the titles against Demolition with WrestleMania IV. Little time afterwards, Martel suffered from a wound after having undergoes the catch of completion of Demolition on the ground, separating the team for several months before her return to WrestleMania V. During a match with the Brain Busters (Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard) Tito struck accidentally Martel with its Flying Forearm and blow out of the boxing ring put it. Frustrated Martel refused the change, letting Tito be made demolish and lose the match. Later, in an interview with Gene Okerlund, Martel affirmed (Kayfabe) " I am disgusted and tired. Disgusted and tired of him. I made good things all alone, but Mr. Tito wants to always make of it a little more . "

The Model

Semi-1989, Martel adopted a character heel of narcissistic, becoming " The Model." If no matter who forgot that it was a model, it carried a epastille génte on which one could read " Yes, I am a model". It had its own collection of perfume called " Arrogance, " who was preserved in a broad atomizor and was sprinkled in the eyes of his adversaries for plugged. Martel struck also its adversaries with a broad pink atomizor for the battres. With the Royal Rumble 1991 , it remained on the boxing ring 53 minutes, a record at the time for the Royal Rumble . Martel was always a large performor in Royal Rumbles. In 1989 it was in the last four before being made leave by Akeem whereas in 1991 it was in the last five and repeated this performance in 1992 when it was eliminated by Sid Justice. Martel was thorough outside by Justice and Rowdy Roddy Piper also fell from the cords at the same time (Piper tried to eliminate Martel when Sid pushed them). It was again in the last four in 1993 after being made eliminated by Bob Backlund.

One of the most famous competitions of Martel during its pério of " The Model" was against Jake " The Snake" Roberts. It plugged Roberts with its perfume in an edition of the " Brother Coils Show" in October 1990, which brought to a symbolic system " blindfold match" with WrestleMania VII , where Martel was beaten. It competed later with Shawn Michaels, whereas the two men showed affection towards Sherri Martel (no relation). The feud ended with a cascade of diverting and comic events, and by a match with double calculation outside with the SummerSlam 1992 with Michaels which had brings to the match a stipulation of " no punches in the face". It entered then a long competition with Tatanka. It was about the " aigle" plucks; crowned of Tatanka, that Martel had flown to him.

Martel did not appear any more with the WWF during several months, but ironically returned in September 1993 in a match to RAW against Tatanka. In the same recording TV, he was declared Co-winner of a royal battle for the vacant Intercontinental title. He lost a match in the recordings of the following week vis-a-vis Razor Ramon to put an end to vacation. It remained regularly in the programs of the WWF until WrestleMania X where right little time after it was not seen any more again. The weather was only one appearance later eight month with the Royal Rumble 1995 (the contractual details are unknown, Martel was selected to replace Jim Neidhart). It formed a équpe with Don Casablancas known like " The Supermodels." Its career in wrestling started to be with the idle whereas it engaged with a career in the Immobilier.

World Championship Wrestling (1997-1998)

Martel réaparisait with the World Championship Wrestling in 1997, competing with Booker T for the WCW World Television Championship, which it gained the February 16th 1998. The return of Martel was however of short duration when, to SuperBrawl VIII the February 22nd 1998, it fell hard during a match with Booker T, one of its legs running up against one of the iron cables which the WCW used for the cords of the boxing ring. It twisted a Ligament intern of the right knee, fractured its leg and suffered from damage to the Cartilage, putting finally fine at its career on the boxing ring. It in the beginning was supposed to preserve the title in the match, which was indicated to be a gauntlet match in which it would have beaten Booker and then Perry Saturn, but it ended up suffering from this wound to the knee. Martel and Booker improvised an end on the boxing ring (in which Martel suffered from a false wound after a Harlem Hangover missed), and then Booker and Saturn carried out the second part of the match entirely on the boxing ring. Martel was wounded for several months. After having suffered from another wound in its match of return (against the partner of Booker T, Stevie Ray), Martel decided to withdraw boxing rings. He worked then as trainer with the WCW and commented on the French versions of the programs of the WCW.

Surprised appearances

At the end of a House show in Canada in 2003, Brock Lesnar brought back Martel like a surprise. Martel proposed Lesnar like a legitimate star by tightening the hand to him.
