Rick Davies ( Richard Davies ) is a Musicien English born the July 22nd 1944 with Swindon in the Wiltshire in England. It is one of the founders of the group of progressive Rock Supertramp. He plays of the Harmonica and the keyboard
Before meeting Sam August Meisegæs and founding Supertramp he was member various groups like the British Railways Staff Association Arm and Silver Jubilee Band in 1956, Vince and the Vigilantes in 1959. In 1962, whereas he studies with the Swindon Art School he assembles the Rick' S Blues , this group dissolves in aoùt 1965.
In September 1966 Davies joined the Lonely Ones with which it will make several concerts in Europe. In July 1967 the group changes name and becomes The Joint .
It is with The Joint that Davies meets Sam August Meisegæs. The Joint dissolved in 1969, and Sam August Meisegæs proposes in Davies to help it to assemble his group. Davies passes an advertisement in Melody Maker for a hearing and creates a group initially named Daddy and which will become Supertramp.
Starting from there the history of Rick Davies joined that of Supertramp. Davies, contrary to Roger Hodgson did not leave album solo.
