Richelle
Richelle (in Walloon Ritchele ) is a section of the common Belgian of Visé located in Walloon region in the Province of Liege.
It was a commune with whole share before the fusion of the communes of 1977.
Richelle is posted in top of a cliff overhanging the Meuse several tens of meters.
The village is at an approximate altitude of 120 meters, but an any small portion of the territory of the village runs to the Meuse, at this time with 60 meters with the top of the sea level.
This place bucolic is characterized by nearly 500 dwellings gathered around the place of the village, except for those of two streets which flee on the one hand towards Dalhem and on the other hand towards Visé.
From its strategic position between Liege and Maastricht and in overhang of the Meuse, Richelle was not saved by the conflicts of the history. With the Middle Ages, it is in Richelle even as is exerted to it (low and average) justice, as still the two courts of justice testify some to the village. After having depended on the abbey of Chèvremont, it is attached to duchy of Limbourg. It is then Spanish, French, Austrian ground and even Hungarian woman before the birth of the Belgian nation.
Today, Richelle overflows of activities as testifies some the official title to the most convivial village of Wallonia decreed in the year 2000.
