Richarde de Souabe
Richarde de Souabe (v. 840 - † September 18th between 894 and 896)
Girl of Erchanger de Souabe, Count Palatine of Nordgau (Alsace), it marries in 862, the emperor of Occident Charles the Large, future emperor of Occident.
Crowned empress during the crowning of her husband in Rome into 881, her reign is marked by the invasions Normans to which her husband cannot face.
In a climate of terror and becoming insane, he shows his wife of adultery and repudiates it by swearing that the marriage was not consumed. However, a lawsuit ends up clearing Richarde and her husband is locked up in an abbey. The empress in vain tries to take regency and ends up withdrawing herself in the Abbaye of Andlau to 35 km of Strasbourg, which it had founded in 880 before being repudiated.
