Richard de Cornouailles

Richard of England known as Richard de Cornouailles (January 5th 1209, Winchester - April 2nd 1272, Berkhamstead), wire of Jean without Ground, King d' Angleterre and of Isabelle of Angouleme.
Count de Cornouailles (1225-1272), it is elected King of the Romans in 1257, but the title is disputed to him by Alphonse X of Castille and it is never crowned emperor. He spends much of money to the development of his castle of Wallingford.
Family and descent
In 1231, it marries in first weddings Isabelle Marchal (1200-1240) which gives him :
- Jean (1232-1233) ;
- Isabelle (1233-1234) ;
- Henri (1235-1271), married in 1269 with Constancy of Moncade, countess of Bigorre († 1310) ;
- Nicolas (1240-1240).
It remarie in 1243 with Sancie of Provence (1228-1261), girl of Raymond Berenger IV, Count de Provence and of Beatrice of Savoy, with which he has :
- Richard (1246-1246) ;
- Edmond (1249-1300), Count de Cornouailles, married in 1272 with Marguerite de Clare (1249-1313).
Widower, it marries in third weddings, the June 16th 1269, Béatrice de Valkenbourg (1253-1277), who does not give him a child.
He is buried with the Abbaye of Hailes (Gloucestershire), which he had founded.
