Richard Walter John Scott (born the February 14th 1954), carried the subsidiary title of Count de Dalkeith until the death of his/her father on September 4th, 2007. It is today the 10th Duc of Buccleuch and the 12th Duc of Queensberry.

Biography

Born in 1954, Scott is the son of Walter Francis John Scott, ninth duke of Buccleuch († 2007) and of his wife, Jane McNeill; he is baptized and with the princess Margaret for godmother. He studies with the college of Eton, is Page of Honor of the queen-mother of 1967 with 1969. In 1973, his/her father inherits the titles of duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry, and Scott then carries the subsidiary title of count de Dalkeith. Later, it is graduate Christ Church of Oxford in 1976 with a license are Arts.

Scott is for a short period with the direction Border Television of 1989 with 1990 and, in 1994, it joined the Commission of the millenium like representative of the north of the England. Fact knight in 2000 for its services with the celebrations of the millenium, Scott leaves the commission in 2003. The duke currently lives in the area of Dabton Thornhill, in the district of Dumfries and Galloway.

September 4th, 2007, he inherits the titles of Duc of Buccleuch and Duc of Queensberry, with the death of his father.

Marriage and descent

In 1981, it Marie with Lady Elizabeth Kerr, a girl of Peter Kerr, twelfth marquis de Lothian (and a sister of Michael Ancram), and they have four children:

  • Louisa Jane Therese Scott (born on October 1st 1982)
  • Walter John Francis Scott (born on August 2nd 1984), count de Dalkeith
  • Charles David Peter Scott (born on April 20th 1987)
  • Amabel Clare Montagu-Douglas-Scott Alice (born on June 23rd 1992)
