Biography
Famous for its modernism and of the functionalist designs, it followed the teaching of Architectural School Association to London, before completing its studies with the Université Yale in 1962.In Yale, it meets like fellow student Norman Foster, and of return in England, they founded the agency of architecture “TEAM 4” (team 4) with their respective wives Su Rogers and Wendy Cheesman. They then quickly gained a reputation of industrial architectural design “of high technology”.
In 1967, Richard Rogers works with Renzo Piano, and gained the contest for the Center Georges-Pompidou in Paris in 1971. This construction established the style characteristic of Rogers into which the majority of the technical networks of the building (water, ducts heating, staircases, elevators) were rejected on the periphery to leave not encumbered internal spaces, with beams of only one range made in Germany. The “plates” are thus completely free.
