Richard Prasquier
Richard Prasquier (born the July 7th 1945 with Gdansk in Poland) is the president of the Representative council of the Jewish institutions of France (CRIF) since May 2007.
Biography
Richard Prasquier exerts the trade of doctor cardiologist and sits at the representative council of CRIF since 1998. The May 13rd 2007, it is elected by it president at the time of the general meeting. At the end of the second turn, it obtained 77 votes, in front of Henri Hajdenberg, a former president (50 votes), and Joseph Zrihen (31 votes). It succeeds thus Roger Cukierman, of which he was the adviser.
Richard Prasquier is also president of the French Committee for Yad Vashem. Before its election with the presidency of CRIF, it chaired its group of connection with the Episcopal conference of the Catholic church and the commission of the international relations of CRIF. It also chairs within the Foundation for the Memory of Shoah the commission of solidarity.
In 2006, Richard Prasquier received Prix of Zakhor Honor For the Memory] by his Excellence AriƩ Avidor, General consul of the State of Israel in France and Ambassador of the State of Israel near the Council of Europe for the whole of his remarkable work which it completed within the French Committee for Yad Vashem. This ceremony took place in Perpignan in the presence of very many personalities.
He is married, father of five children, whose girl who resides in Israel, and has six grandchildren.
