Richard Meier born in 1934 with Newark, New Jersey (the United States), is a American Architecte .
In 1963, it creates its agency in its apartment of New York, its first order being a house for his/her parents in Essex Fells, New Jersey (the United States).
Simultaneously with its activity of architect, he teaches with the Cooper Union (1962 - 1973), with Yale (1975 - 1977) then with Harvard (1980 - 1981). Richard Meïer is the author of several particular houses of which famous Douglas House with Harbor Springs (1973), sumptuous residence which overhangs the Lake Michigan. Its work on the light, the white color, space and the form brings it closer to Le Corbusier.
It forged a museographic matter solid reputation. It built for the first time in France in 1989, at the conclusion of the contest for the realization of the seat of Canal+, Quai Andre Citroen.
It obtains the Prix Pritzker in 1984.
