Richard No5el Marx (born the September 16th 1963 with Chicago, in Illinois) is a song writer and performer and an American producer. During the years 1980s and 1990s, Marx left several tubes, including " Right Waiting Young stag, " " Hazard, " and " Hold One to the Nights." Although it met mainly success with ballades like those, much of its songs have a its rock'n'roll, like " Don' T Mean Nothing, " " Should' ve Known Better, " " Satisfied, " and " Too Late to Say Goodbye". Marx was the first artist with the the United States to have the first seven extracts of its albums placed in signal 5 of the Billboard.

Childhood and the First successes

Marx began its career as musician at the 5 years age, by singing small songs written by his/her father, Dick, for commercials of the peanut butter of Peter Pan and Nestlé Crunch.

Marx was 17 years old and lived in suburbs of Chicago when a band of its songs was discovered by Lionel Richie. Richie said that he thought that Marx could make a success, by saying " I can nothing promise to you, but you must come to Los Angeles. " Therefore, after having received its diploma of the college, Marx went to Los Angeles to visit him. " It was recording its first solo album, and it had problems with the harmonies, " Richard remembers. " He said, 'Tests this part. That went, and I finally sang on his album." Richard took part in the choruses of the songs " You Are" , " All Night Long" and " Running with the Night".

During these years, Richard found any occasion of going to the studio of recording. Its enthusiasm and its presence with the studio helped it to find several opportunities of working with the artists like Madonna and Whitney Houston, and later it was likely to be useful as type-setter. He sang for Kenny Rogers in 1984 when he heard that Rogers needed a new song. In a few days, Richard gave him a demonstration of " Crazy". Rogers recorded it, like another song of Richard, " What Me" Butt; , with James Ingram and Kim Edges. The two songs found much success and placed number 1 on the charters country. Richard worked also with the producer David Foster, and wrote the songs for Freddie Jackson and the Chicago group.

Marx continued to continue a contract to create its own album. Its demonstration was rejected by all the companies in Hollywood until, four years after being arrived at Los Angeles, president d' EMI/Manhattan Records, Bruce Lundvall, heard it. It knew immediately that Marx would be a success. Therefore, Marx signed a contract with EMI/Manhattan. Marx came into contact with Fee Waybill, and some musicians of the Eagles group, and created an album éponyme.

Career in music

First album

The album Richard Marx left in June 1987. More than 3 million specimens were sold. The first extract, " Don' T Mean Nothing, " in July left and was placed number 3 on the charters of pop Richard was the first artist to have a song exploited 117 radio stations at the national level during its first week on the charters Its two extracts following, " Should've Known Better" (October 1987) and " Endless Summer Nights" (January 1988) number 3 and number 2 were placed respectively. The fourth extract, " Hold one to the Night" was first number 1 for Richard.

With the success of his album éponyme, Richard became the first male artist to have four of his extracts in Signal 3 of its first album. He embarked for a first world tour in concerts for 14 month, whereas its album remained in the charts during more than 18 months.

In 1988, Richard received a nomination for the Grammy Award of " Male Best Vocal Rock'n'roll Performance" for " Gift' T Mean Nothing."

Repeat Offender

Repeat Offender , the second album of Richard left in May 1989 is sold more than 5 million specimens. It was the result of the energy produced during its first round, and the majority of the pieces were written by Richard. " Some people said that they thought that this time all would be easier, and that I could slacken me, " Richard said, " but makes some, it is more difficult, I have to prove more. Thus I tried to create an album which further goes than the premier."

First two extracts, " Satisfied" and " Right Waiting" Young stag; , both were placed number 1 in the charts. The third, " Angelia" , number 4 was placed, and Richard became the first artist solo to reach Signal 5 with his first seven songs.

Another song drawn from this album, " Children off the Night" , was written for the homonymous organization for the children runnings away in Los Angeles. It was the fifth extract of Repeat Offender and all the rights were given to the charitable organizations.

The second concert world turn of Marx started during the spring of 1989, in Australia, in Japan, in Europe, in Canada and the United States until the month of August 1990. In 1989, Marx on the occasion to interpret " Help" , the song of Beatles, with the Berlin Wall in 1989.

Richard received his second nomination for Grammy in 1989 for " Pop Male Best Vocal Performance": " Right Waiting" Young stag;.

Following albums

Marx made several other albums which did not reach the success of its first albums. Only the extract " Hazard" of Rush Street became an important hit. The album Paid Vacation with its hit " Now And Forever" left in 1994, Days in Avalon in 2000, and My Own Best Enemy in 2004.

The first compilation of " Greatest Hits" Richard in November 1997 left. The album contains all the tubes of Marx, and also the song " Angel' S Lullaby" , that he wrote for his children and who profited the foundation AIDS from pediatry. The album left to Asia in November 1998, including the new songs " Slipping Away" and " Thanks to You".

" Now And Forever" of the most beautiful ballades ever left one but oddly it is ignored.

Its work with other artists

Richard sang with Donna Lewis, more known for his hit " I Coil You Always Forever" , in the extract " At the Beginning" drawn from the band its of the film Anastasia . He sang with Madonna on his album, True Blue . He also sang in duet with Lara Fabian the title Surrender to me .

He was useful as type-setter-producer for many of other artists, including Barry Manilow, Barbra Streisand, 98 Degrees, Kenny Loggins, Emerson Drive, Luther Vandross, Michael Bolton, *NSYNC, Olivia Newton-John, Sarah Brightman, SheDaisy, Farnsy, Vince Gill, Hugh Jackman, Shane Minor, Josh Groban, LeAnn Rimes, Natalie Cole, Kenny Rogers, Marie Sisters, and Céline Dion.

In 1999, Marx made two concert turns in China and began its own company of recording, " Signal 21 Records" , all while he worked on its sixth album. And with the Grammy Awards of 2004, Richard gained the price for Meilleure Song of the Year, " Dance with My Father", that he wrote with fire Luther Vandross.

Personal life

Richard is the only son of Ruth, a singer, and Dick Marx, a musician of jazz.

Marx married Cynthia Rhodos, a singer/dancer/actress, who appeared in the film Dirty Dancing of 1987 and belonged to the Animotion group in 1989. They have three wire: Torch, Lucas, and Jesse.

In addition to his parents, Richard says that it was influenced per many of other artists, including Sam Cooke, Elvis Presley, Billy Joel, Rod Stewart, Doobie Brothers, The Eagles, Luther Vandross, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Gladys Knight.
