Richard Curtis

Richard Curtis , of his complete name Richard Whalley Anthony Curtis, born the November 8th 1956 in New Zealand, is a Réalisateur, Scénariste, and Producteur of cinema and British Télévision , of origin Néo-zélandaise.

Biography

Richard Curtis was born in 1956 in New Zealand, but grew in various parts of the world, and in particular to Manila (Filipino) and Stockholm (Sweden) because his/her father, important directing Firme Unilever, was often transferred for professional reasons.

It arrived in Great Britain at the eleven years age, and made English studies (language and literature) to the Université of Oxford. It is there that it met that which will become its partner of writing privileged, Rowan Atkinson. Their career starts on the BBC-2, chains for which they write the series Not the Nine O' Clock News , after being noticed at the time of a performance given to the Festival of Edinburgh. This film marks also the beginning of what will become the kind of predilection of the scenario writer: the romantic Comedy. But international success arrives only in 1994 with Four marriages and a burial , at the time the most profitable film of the cinema compared to its starting setting (it has had for summer beaten by the Projet Blair Witch ). This film is also the first collaboration of Curtis and Hugh Grant, become since its actor “fetish”. Connecting business successes with the passing of years, it passes in 2003 behind the camera and carries out Love actually .

Richard Curtis lives in London, it is married with Emma Freud, presenter of television in England, and back-small-girl of Sigmund Freud. They have three children.
