Richard Buckminster Fuller (July 12th 1895, Milton, Massachusetts - July 1st 1983, Los Angeles) was an architect, designer, inventor and American, creative writer inter alia concept of the geodetic dome. The geodetic dome was used inter alia for the house of the United States to the International exhibition of 1967 to Montreal and there now sits the Biosphère.
It is known also for its chart Dymaxion , a Projection of Fuller representing the continents of planet on a modified icosahedron. When this one is unfolded, the continents appear all of them contiguous. Once folded up, it takes a form sufficiently close to a terrestrial sphere to allow functions of teaching.
It also popularized the concept of Synergie.
The Fullerène S, family of carbon molecules forming of the geodetic domes, were named thus in reference to Buckminster Fuller .
It is also known around to have discovered the principle structural of the tensegrity of which it deposited 4 patents.
