Richard Bradley

Richard Bradley is a Botaniste and a British Naturaliste , born in 1688 and dead the November 5th 1732 with Cambridge.

Bradley becomes professor of botany to the Université of Cambridge in 1724 then gives medical matter courses in 1727. Member of the Royal Society in 1712, it is interested in the generation of the plants and the anatomy of the plants. He makes appear more than twenty publications between 1716 with 1730 mainly devoted to agriculture and the Horticulture:

  • has Succulent Treatise one Seedlings (1710).

  • New Improvements off Planting and Gardening both Philosophical and Practical (1717, several times republished until in 1731).
  • The History off Succulent Seedlings (1717).
  • has General Treatise one Husbandry and Gardening (1723).
  • has off survey Ancient Husbandry and Gardening Collected from the Greeks and Romans (1725).
  • The Riches off has Hop Garden Explained (1729).
  • has Dictionary off Seedlings, Their Description and Use (1747).
