Richard Beauthier
Richard Beauthier , born with Molenbeek-Saint-Jean on November 5th 1913 is a Belgian Politician.
Richard Beauthier studied with the Athenaeum of Ixelles before being registered at the Bar of Brussels in 1939, after being proclaimed doctor in right to the central Jury.
Being registered in 1945 with the Left Social-Christian, it is elected to advise communal Ganshoren in 1952. Six years later, he becomes first alderman, in coalition with the liberals; two years later, it reaches the function mayorale following the death of the liberal burgomaster. Obtaining the absolute majority in 1964, the PSC-CVP will control only the commune until 2000.
With its municipal career is added a senatorial career (1965-1968; 1973-1974), of federal deputy (at the time, Belgium was unit; 1974-1978) and inhabitant of Brussels: to advise provincial of the Brabant (1954-1965), to advise agglomeration (1971-1988) and appointed regional (1989-1995); for this reason, it will ensure the vice-presidency of the Parliament of the District council of Brussels (today, Parlement of Brussels).
Presenting under the banner of the Alive party to the regional elections of 1999, without being elected, Beauthier dies on November 29th, 1999, while having beforehand reinstated the PSC which he had deserted a few months. Jean-Louis Thys was his communal secretary before becoming minister and burgomaster of the common neighbor of Jette.
A foundation bears its name, it has as an aim social to encourage the young people of the commune particularly gifted and/or families disadvantaged to undertake or continue higher learning.
