Richard Arkwright
Richard Arkwright (Preston 1732 - 1792), Engineer and industrial especially known English for his machines which will have, if not allowed, at least to accelerate starting from Nottingham, the Industrial revolution.
Born in a poor family, it was until the 36 years simple age Barbier. Endowed with a natural genius for mechanics, it succeeds, after difficulties without number, to carry out a spinning machine the cotton of a great perfection. It took in 1771 a patent, establishes a factory with Cromfort (Derbyshire) and made soon an immense fortune.
Honore of all, it became in 1786 tall Shérif county of Derby and was made knight.
The invention of Arkwright made a revolution in the manufacture of cotton, by almost reducing to nothing labor, it made it possible England prodigiously to lower the price of its goods.
