Richard Anthony
Richard Anthony , of his true name Richard Btesh , is a French singer, born on January 13rd, 1938 with the Cairo (Egypt).
He passes all his childhood to Egypt, Argentina, England then to France where he integrates the college Janson de Sailly.
In 1958, influenced by the American music, Richard decides to adapt " You are my destiny" of Paul Anka and " Peggy Sue" of Buddy Holly. It is not a large success but " Peggy Sue" is all the same the first rock' roll adapted in French!
Its 3rd 45 turns will have to be awaited where " appears; Vague" news;. It is an enormous success. Richard very quickly becomes the god of the young people.
Follows a series of tubes, recorded in London in the studio of the Beatles all arranged by Ivor Raymonde.
It will have villas, a hotel with the Jamaica, a villa with Marbella, a private aircraft which it flies itself, of the motor bikes, cars, boats….it will have also 11 children and 5 women.
In 1968, it with the audacity to adapt the concerto of Ajanjuez of Joaquin Rodrigo. Very quickly it is a world success.
The Seventies are less brilliant until 1974 when it returns with " In love with my Femme".
In 1978 it leaves to Los Angeles with his Sabine wife, she does not love the Americans and decides to return in 1983. But the Tax department awaits Richard….
After 3 days in prison in 1983 for payment of back taxes, an suicide attempt, the career of Richard seems to be finished.
It returns however in 2006 in the round Tender yearses and wood Heads which are a success.
Richard is regarded still today as the idol of the idols of the Sixties.
