Ricciotti Garibaldi

Ricciotti Garibaldi (Montevideo, 1847 - Rome, 1924), born in Uruguay of Giuseppe Garibaldi and Anita Garibaldi, it passes its childhood between Nice, Caprera and the England. Quartrième wire of the " hero of both mondes" , it is called thus in memory of Nicola Ricciotti, patriot shot by the bourbons during the forwarding of the Frères Bandiera.

In 1866 it takes part in the Bataille of Bezzecca, in 1867 with Mentana and in 1870 in the the Vosges, or it occupies Chatillon and orders the 4th brigade of the volunteers garibaldiens who conquer with Pouilly the flag of the 61ième German regiment of Pomeranie, the single Prussian flag lost during the war which tremine by the defeat of France.

He marries English a Constance Hopcraft with which he carries out bad deals commercial in America and in Australia. He is appointed of 1887 with 1890. In 1897 it is with Domokos, where the garibaldiens are sacrificed leaving on the battle field the republican deputy Antonio Fratti, to cover the retirement of the Greek army and in 1912 it is with Drisko, where it orders a body of red shirts which fights to defend the Greeks of the Ottoman Empire.

Its health condition and its advanced age did not allow him to take part in the First World War. He was opposed to the advent of the Fascisme.

  • Ricciotti Garibaldi jr (Rome 1881 - ivi, 1951) which fought in Argonne during the First World War and among the partisans of the Venezia Giulia.
  • Menotti Garibaldi jr (1884 - Sri Lanka 1934)
  • Sante Garibaldi (1888-1946)
  • Bruno Garibaldi (death in Argonne, 1914)
  • Costante Garibaldi (Rome 1892 - Argonne 1915), died in the Argonne
  • Ezio Garibaldi it fought in Argonne and in the the Alps, it was close to the Fascisme until 1940.
  • Anita Italia (death with Rome in 1962)
