Ribe (amt)
The amt of Ribe was one of the Amter of Denmark (department).
Geography
The amt of Ribe is located on the west coast of the Jutland. It is particularly open on the North Sea with the port of Esbjerg which, with its important installations, is the principal direct outlet of Denmark on the west. Esbjerg succeeded in this role the town of Ribe whose channel was ensablé little by little with the wire of the centuries.
