Rianxo

Rianxo (be. Rianjo), is a city and commune of Galicia, in the province of Corogne (Spain).

Physical and human geography

The city and commune are in the Sierra of Barbanza, limiting in the south with the Province of Pontevedra.

History

Rianxo is the birthplace of Castelao, one of the most important figures of the Galician identity.

Rianxo is a city attached to the catholic tradition of worship to the Virgin of Fátima, where the visions of sister Lúcia Abobora back Santos took place during its stay in August 1931.
