Rièzes
Rièzes (in Walloon Rieze ) is a section of the Belgian city of Chimay, located in Walloon region in the Province of Hainaut.
It was a commune with whole share before the fusion of the communes of 1977.
Characteristic
Although located in Hainaut (in the extreme south of what one calls the “boot of Hainaut”, and being next to the French border) the village of Rièzes can be regarded as of the Ardennes , in particular by its altitude which plank 400 meters. (As a Walloon, a “rièze” is a stagnant water pond).
Personality
Rièzes is the native village of Arthur Masson, father of Toine Culot hero of literature expressing the good sense and the love of life Wallonne. The village is entitled itself Village of good mood
