Rhythmbox

Rhythmbox is a audio Lecteur free diffused under license GNU LPG. It allows the organization and the reading of music files as well as the listening of Webradio S thanks to the development platform GStreamer under GNOME. The program makes it possible to traverse a file containing of the thousands of audio files by artist (type-setter, interprets, etc) and by album like carrying out research in this list. The interface, very near to that of the software ITunes of Apple is very intuitive even if it is less esthetic than at this last.

April 2004: beginning of the branch 0.8.x with the version 0.8.0
August 2005: beginning of the branch 0.9.x with the version 0.9.0
May 2007: release of the version 0.10.1

Functionalities

The software integrates since its version a 0.9.2 Plugin for Last.fm and since the 0.9.6, a plugin for Jamendo making it possible to read directly since the reader the complete library of the site. These plugins is integrated nativement starting from version 0.10. Rhythmbox manages from now on, like its equivalent KDE Amarok, the Fondu connected of the tracks.
