Rhopalocères

The Rhopalocera form a taxon founded on morphological observations of the Imago S of Lépidoptère. Current classification is based on phylogenetic analyzes and makes taxon obsolete, but this continuous term to be used to describe the butterflies of day, on the other hand this taxon which gathers good numbers of butterfly to the colors chatoyantes which live during the day, included not all the butterflies which live during the day, certain butterflies known as of night live during the day.

Rhopalocères have thin tactile antennas at the thickened end. With some exceptions, they fold up their wings perpendicular to their body. The butterfly of day has a cocoon which hardens. They can be active in the twilight and dawn. The rhopalocères, on the other hand, are never active of night.
