Rhacodactylus chahoua

It is large a gecko (sometimes plud of 30 cm) originating in New Caledonia. Equipped with a thick body but with a relatively fine tail, its colors are very variable (gray, green pale, white, russet-red, brown) but in general moucheté.
He lives in the large trees, often close to the rivers (he is equipped with pelottes adhesive, to see Seta).

Geographical distribution

This gecko is endemic of the New Caledonia, where he saw rather high trees.

This reptile is before all insectivorous which drives out the Insecte S present in the environment. Being given their big size, it are capable to consume at the time of small vertebrate S like other reptiles (sometimes of same the kind as them) or small rodent S.
