Reynald Drouhin

Reynald Drouhin (born in 1969) is an artist French.

Born in 1969 with Paris, Reynald Drouhin lives and works in Paris and Rennes. It followed studies of visual arts to the Art schools of Paris (DNSAP, 1998), in Mastère Hypermédia Multimédia (1998) and to the Université Paris 1 (Control, 1994).

Reynald Drouhin inter alia presented its work to the Hind of Bere Gallery Natural/DIGITAL (2005), in Confluences (2003), with the gallery Public (2001), with the International festival of arts urban multimedias in Belfort, biennial of Montreal (2000) and to the video international demonstration & Web art organized by Free field (1999). It also took part in Imagina with Monaco (1998), with ISEA (1997) with Chicago.

It received several prices and mentions of which the departmental purse of individual assistance to the creation of the Musée of contemporary art of the Valley-of-Marne (MacVal) (2005), the Grand Prix Scam of the numerical work of art interactive with Incident.net (2003), the video Price of the FIAV in Tangier (2001), the Grand Prix in Cyberfestival with Rueil-Malmaison as well as the Multimédia price of DRAC Auvergnes-Vidéoformes with incident.net (1999). It achieved several residences: in Européo in Italy (2001), to the CICV with Belfort (2000-01), in C3 with Budapest (2000) and with Carnegie Mellon University with Pittsburgh (1997).

He is currently artist-teacher in the Art schools of Rennes, member of the collective Incident.net since 1996, taking part in the group of Norma research, and initiating teaching project in Métazimut line.

For several years, Reynald Drouhin has used the numerical practices of the Vidéo, the Image and Internet; on the concepts of appropriation and diversion of documents. It uses specificities of the Web: the search engines of images, the Real-time, the transitory one, the “hacking” of resources. It carried out projects, on the fragment: Flowers, I them, Om, Rhizomes, on visualizations in real-time using Webcam S: TimesSquare! C! , or of search engines of images: Of Frags, Timescape, Incidence. He also worked on projects of vidéos and non-linear DVD: Red, BetaGirl, Revenances, History (S), Spaltung, Re-mix, etc
