Revolutionary section

The revolutionary Section was represented with the Commune of Paris by:

  • Clot,
  • Mining,
  • Sillans.

This section was called first of all Henri-V section. In 1792 it becomes section of the Pont-Neuf. In 1793, it took the name of section Révolutionnaire and it became again section of the Pont-Neuf after the 9 Thermidor year (July 27th 1794).

Territory: the western part of the island of the City including/understanding the Law courts and the Town hall of Paris.

Population: 5.126 inhabitants, including 460 workmen and 158 lower-income group.

This section remained faithful to the national Convention on Thermidor 9 year (July 27th, 1794) during the fall of Maximilien de Robespierre. None of its representatives lent oath to the Commune of Paris.
