Returned
Returned is a data-processing process, calculating starting from a scene created in a software of modeling (3Ds max, Maya, Sketchup, etc) an image 2D. This process can call upon various more or less elaborate techniques. Most known are returned in Raytracing and Radiosité.
More made final of a scene will be real (taking into account of the whole of the physical phenomena: reflection, refraction, radiosity,…) more the computing time will be long. Certain scenes approaching the Photoréalisme can spend several days with being returned. In the same way, it is often preferable to exploit the level of detail of the scene. That thus makes it possible for animations unnecessarily not to weigh down calculations.
The priority being sometimes the speed (3D real-time), of the techniques of returned using the material (through OpenGL or of Direct3D, for example) are used while using of compromises which make it possible to obtain a minimum of photorealism while offering better performances, even of the interactivity. Certain parameters of the scene can then be fixed while others can in real-time (position from the point of view, materials,…).
