Synopsis

You surely guessed that the history of Resurrection off The Little Match Girl is based on the original tale of Hans Christian Andersen: the Little girl with the matches . The film borrows about the same intrigue, i.e. the history of a girl who dies of cold during the winter and which must sell matches to survive. However, the resemblances stop there. In film, the little girl is now a prostitute who must sell disposable lighters to survive. Ju is our principal protagonist. He aspires to becoming one day like his best friend, a pro-gamer, a player of video games professional. Indeed, this phenomenon really exists in Korea. Hundreds of people literally spend 10 hours per day to practice StarCraft or Counter-Strike. Ju often attends a cybercafé. It is there that Hee-mee work, consequently interpreted actress. One day, it penetrates in a video game in the role of the hero where it must “save” the Little girl with the matches . Thus the film starts…
