Resurgence

One calls resurgence the place where a underground Rivière spouts out. The exurgences are more specifically of emergences of the water of an underground hydrographic network. They are particularly abundant in the plates Calcaire S; in the Causses for example. This gushing is done with the free air, but also at sea, until several tens of meters of depth and until several hundred meters of the shore. These marine resurgences were sometimes used by sailors, like source of drinking water on the open sea.

One can compare a resurgence to a source, whose water, filtered by the rocks which it crossed, is often good quality.
