Results of the general elections britanno-Colombians since 1871
This is a synopsis of the results of the general elections britanno-Colombians since the adhesion of this province of the Canada to the Canadian Confédération in 1871. Are included in these tables only the parties and candidates having been represented with the legislative Assemblée of the Colombia-British.
Under the terms of amendments brought to the constitutional Law of the Colombia-British in 2001, the elections as a Colombia-British take place from now on on fixed date, second Tuesday of May every four years.
1871 to 1899
Before the election of 1903, the government of the Colombia-British functions on a model of consensus and the memberships partisanes do not exist officially. However, of the elections are held in the province as of its admission with the Canadian Confédération in 1871 and certain deputy gouverement declare their support at day, others prefer to sit in the opposition.
1900 to 1919
1 In 1907 and 1909, a conservative candidate, R. McBride, was presented and was elected simultaneously in two different districts. It is thus counted twice.

1920 to 1939
1 With causes of internal dissensions, the Conservative party does not take part officially in the election of 1933; each local association takes part in an independent way. The various conservative candidates present themselves under the banners of the unionistic Party ( Unionist Party off British Columbia ), of the Group independent not-partisan ( Independent Not-Partisan Group ), or as independent or independent conservatives.

7 the Independent Not-Partisan Group (independent not-partisan Group) made elect 2 deputies with 10,19% of the voices. The unionistic Party of the Colombia-British makes elect 1 deputy with 4,05% of the voices.
8 Liberal independent
1 a system of alternative Vote is used at the time of the elections of 1952 and 1953: the voter, instead of choosing only one candidate, must preferably classify them in order; if no candidate obtains the absolute majority during the first examination, the candidate having received less votes is eliminated and its votes are redistributed according to the second choice which is registered there. The results of the popular vote shown here are those of the final examination.
² 16 candidates present themselves under the banner of various creditists groups, of which: The Party social Credit, the League of the social credit and Union of the voters
³ the liberals and the conservatives form a Coalition government after the election of 1941 and take part coinjointement in the two following general elections.
4 the Conservative party of the Colombia-British adopts the name of Party progressist-conservative of the Colombia-British in 1951.
1 the Co-operative the Commonwealth Federation becomes the New Democratic party in 1961.
1 the Party reformist of the Colombia-British ( Reform Party off British Columbia ) made elect 2 deputies with 9,27% of the voices. Progressist-democratic Alliance ( Progressive Democratic Alliance ) made elect 1 deputy with 5,74% of the voices.
