Restoroute
The Restoroutes are the name given in France to the restaurants located on the surfaces of Autoroute.
Creator of first Restoroutes in 1968, Jacques Borel is especially the first restorer to introduce the Hamburger S in France with the mark Wimpy. He launches in these restaurants separation between eaters and system of production. He transforms the traditional meal with a food always affectivement identified where the eater personally knows that which cooked the product with an industrialization of the production and food transformation.
He reproduced the architecture of the highway restaurants to Italian (on bridge-crutches…) because it did not seem profitable enough to build an establishment on each side of the ways. But as of its launching, this chain of highway restoration took a bad reputation on behalf of the users. According to many witnesses, been useful food would have been of very bad quality and the too modern framework for the time. Since the Seventies, the name of " Borel" passed in the current language as a bad food (one ate Borel this midday…) and film the wing or the thigh (1976) whose famous character of Tricatel represented the diabolic lining of Jacques Borel did not contribute to arrange his brand image.
The chain the Arch which is success today replaced Jacques Borel in 1983.
