Reserve of Hai Bar

The reserve of Hai Bar , close to the Kibbutz Yotvata, is a reserve animaliaire located in the valley of Arava of the desert of the Negev at 37 km in the north of Eilat.

The park was created in 1968 and covers a surface of 3000 hectares.

This reserve is a halt for the migratory birds.

The zone contains a clear forest, a small desert of dune and a saline Marais.

Many species disappeared there were reintroduced like the Onagre, the Oryx of Arabia, the Oryx gazelle or the Autruche of Africa (near to the disappeared indigenous ostrich). The reintroduced species are species whose name is quoted in the Bible. These species live there in a wild state.
