Republic (subway of Paris)

République is a station of the lines 3, 5, 8, 9 and 11 of the Métro of Paris. It is located under the Place of the Republic, in the 3 {{E}}   district of Paris.

The station

Before the grid of the RER, it held the record of the greatest number of correspondences, five (today equalized by Châtelet with the arrival of the line 14).

The crossing of these five underground lines imposed the creation of a complex system of corridors to allow displacements without clashes of the travellers. But, by the lines which it connects, the station is accessible directly since several communes from the close relation Parisian Banlieue.

The station of line 3 is located under the southern part of the place in direction of the avenue of the Republic. That of line 5 in north, the outlet of the Magenta boulevard.

Those of lines 8 and 9 in north with the outlet of the boulevard St Martin. That of line 11, finally is in the east street of the Suburb of the Temple.

In 2004, it was the sixth more attended station of the network, with 15,14 million entering direct.
