Renin

The renin (also called angiotensinogénase ) is a Enzyme Système renin-angiotensin-aldosterone.

History

The renin was discovered by Tigestedt in 1898.

System renin-angiotensin-aldosterone

The synthesis of the renin by the cells of the juxta-glomerular apparatus renal is carried out in answer to:

  • a lowers pressure of blood perfusion,
  • with a Hypokaliémie,
  • with a Hyponatrémie.

The renin is a long protein of 340 amino-acid and of a molecular weight of 37 let us kDaltons. The Gène of the renin is located on the long arm of the Chromosome 1 (1q32).

Its role is to catalyze the transformation of the angiotensinogene (Protéine synthesized by the Foie) into angiotensin I which will give itself angiotensin II, peptide involving an increase in the Volémie while exploiting the feeling of thirst, the secretion of Aldostérone, and gauges it blood-vessels.

Inhibiters of the renin

the Aliskirène is a specific inhibiter of the renin. It makes it possible cause a drop in the blood Pressure among hypertensive patients .
