After its victories over 7th, 9th, 11th and 18th stages of the Tour de France 1934 and 6th and 9th stages of the Tour de France 1935, it had to wait 12 years for its 7th and 8th victories of stages over the Grande Boucle (2nd and 7th stages of the Tour de France 1947). What constitutes more the wide variation between 2 victories of stages.

So it is one of the 19 cyclists having gained 2 stages or more over one period 10 years or more. Thanks to its victories over the Tour de France 1947, it joined Jean Alavoine, Henri Pelissier, Philippe Thys, Louis Mottiat, André Leducq, Antonin Magne. Then, are Gino Bartali, André Darrigade, Jean Stablinski, Raymond Poulidor, Felice Gimondi, Gerben Karstens, Ferdinand Bracke, Joaquim Agostinho, Lucien Van Impe, Lance Armstrong, Richard Virenque and Cédric Vasseur which made a success of the same exploit.
