Rene Rabault

Rene Rabault was born with Angers in 1910. He died in this same city in 1993.

Biography

Man of theater, decorator and writer. He works initially in the workshop of decoration of his father. Ignited by the theater, it founds in 1939 the company of Christian theater the Mask with the broom . Its setting in scene of the " Way of Croix" of Claudel the congratulations of the author to him himself is worth, in 1947: “ You penetrated in my thought and your play further expresses than I did not write… ”.

The festival of Angers begins with Rene Rabault in 1950 - 1951, at the request of the prefect Jean Morin, before becoming officially celebrates it festival of Anjou in 1952.

In 1957, Rene Rabault creates a course of dramatic art at the Music school (Conservatoire future of area).

In 1966, Rene Rabault takes part in the film the Seizure of power by Louis XIV of Roberto Rossellini. It plays there the part of Mister de Grammont . The scenes are turned in the castles of Brissac, Houses-Laffitte and Vincennes.

The man of theater is erased towards 1970 in front of the writer and the storyteller, in love impassioned with Anjou.
